OpeniBoot, from the iDroid Project, is the successor to Bootlace, which ported the Android operating system (OS) to the iPhone 2G and 3G.
This new iteration will support the newer generation of Apple devices, including the iPad, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and the 2nd-generation iPod Touch.
OpeniBoot is an open source implementation of iBoot, Apple’s closed-source bootloader for all iOS devices, for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices. It allows booting of unsigned code such as Linux kernels (the heart of the Android OS) on the device.
